Of course, more people means it is a bigger challenge to provide a consistent service. For that reason we are working hard to create more detailed procedures for our internal processes. And are calling on advanced ITIL processes/certifications and Bedenk to assist us.
Exitas is not only a servicedesk. We have 25 detached consultants all over Belgium and even in the Netherlands. These people provide their knowledge directly at the customer site.
Speaking of our customers… In 2017, we closed contracts with a lot of new customers on top of the large amount of existing ones we provided services for last year.
We are grateful for their trust in our expertise and hope we can keep helping them with their projects in 2018.
How ya doin’ partner?
We made partnerships with MongoDB and Quest (the Toad-guys).
The existing partnership with Enterprise DB for Postgres has expanded and we are striving to get even better at it.
MySQL cloud has 3 certified Exitas consultants.
Our Oracle expertise has grown even further and together with some others, we helped make De Cronos Groep the first and so far only MSP cloud partner of Oracle in Belgium.
Oh yeah… ‘Cloud’
As disaster recovery is still a hot topic we also got officially certified in Dbvisit Standby and updated our Dbvisit Replicate certification.
While we are at it… Our very own Geert De Paep passed the April edition of the Oracle Database 12c Certified Master exam, making him officially an Oracle Certified Master! He passed 2 days of practical exams in which all different parts of the Oracle database were dealt with.
The amazing news kept on coming. Pieter Van Puymbroeck made Oracle Ace just a few months later. By contributing his fine expertise and knowledge to the community, he is now part of a select group of Oracle specialists.

Business and pleasure
We organized 3 technical lunches in 2017 and hosted a Postgres seminar in collaboration with Enterprise DB. We also joined forces with Contribute to welcome you on our cloud event.
But working was not the only thing we did. There was the pain(t)ball skirmish in June, the DBA weekend in October, some of us went to Oracle Open World and some visited the Oracle Cloud personally!
In December we had our own booth at the Cronos Groep Christmas market for the Studio Brussel event called ‘De warmste week‘ and raised €1400 for the Give A Day charity. Because every little bit helps.

On the 11th of May, Steven and his girlfriend Anja brought their daughter Kato into the world. Who would’ve thought….
