1st of March 2018

We cordially invited you to join us in tasting the new Oracle Database Appliance: a small, medium and high performance version for all your database needs – even if you run Oracle Standard Edition!

Our experts and some current ODA users served you the details. And because one cannot live off desserts alone, we invited you to join us for lunch and share your thoughts. You can find more detailed information like the program on this page.

Do you have

  • a need for a hardware refresh?
  • difficulties to find DBA’s?
  • an issue with different vendors to solve infrastructure problems?
  • business critical applications which need continuous uptime and failover systems?
  • multiple hubs you want to manage from HQ?

Overview and evolution of ODA and all of its flavours

Since 2011, Oracle released six generations of the Oracle Database Appliance. This session will give you an overview of the current models and how they evolved over time. You will learn about the architecture, the benefits of the ODA and you will be able to decide if ODA is a good solution for your environment.

How to license the new Oracle Database Appliance X7-2 portfolio

Mascha Barantschik, Principal Product Manager, will explain how to license the Oracle Database Appliance X7-2 portfolio for your Enterprise Edition, Standard Edition and application workloads based on bare metal and virtualization (Oracle VM and KVM) installments.

Hans Gierts

Customer case: Galapagos

Galapagos has a challenging database environment: Oracle databases combined with business critical biochemical applications. During this session they will explain how they got more out of our Oracle databases and how they used the virtualization option of the Oracle Database Appliance to run both databases and applications.

Customer case: Wit-Gele Kruis

Wit-Gele Kruis acquired an ODA in 2016 and they have used it for a successful rollout of their Data Warehouse environment. They will give you an overview of the ODA setup and show how ODA was the perfect solution for both database and middleware in this scenario.
