Did you know the easiest database hardware now comes in 4 models?
Did you know you can save money by improving your database performance?

To inform you about the latest Oracle Database Appliance (ODA) release, we hosted a Technical Lunch on the 29th of March 2017

After a small lunch, the speakers – some of the best in the business – will gave insights about the new models and features of the ODA.
We also presented some performance cases by people with hands-on experience. Checkout the program.

Not only is an ODA Oracle’s all-in-one solution to run your databases in a stable and performant environment, but Exitas has also installed several ODA’s and continues to support more than half of the installations currently being run in Belgium.
During this Technical Lunch we would like to share some of the knowledge we gained with you!

Models & Features

The Oracle Database Appliance is now available in 4 different types, ranging from small, medium and large to the more advanced high availability model and ranging in price from around 15k € to 60k €. Three of these even run Oracle Database Standard Edition (1/2); making the optimized platform of the ODA a possibility for every organization.

So, what are the differences between the types and which one would suit your organization? In this session, we will help you choose and calculate the price of hardware and software to run your Oracle database environment cheaper, easier, faster and with less risk on an ODA.

Oracle Database Appliance Performance

The Oracle Database Appliance has undergone a lot of changes since its original release. It is getting more and more powerful regarding CPU power but also the storage has improved dramatically due to SSD and Flash Cache. This session will illustrate the performance of the ODA, based on several benchmark tests we have performed. Using graphs and figures we will demonstrate the power of this appliance.
